가톨릭의 환경윤리에 관한 입장과 해법
오늘날 환경문제는 한 나라만의 문제가 아닌 국제적인 문제로 확산되고 있다. 그러나 인류는 환경문제 관한 공통적인 해법을 찾지못하고 있다. 선진국과 후진국, 계층과 지역, 정부와 시민단체 간에도 환경 문제에 대한 인식과 해법이 다르기 때문이다. 최근 가톨릭의 환경문제에 관한 전 지구적 생태적 관점과 해법은 우리 모두의관심을 끌기에 충분하다. 가톨릭의 환경 문제에 관한 기본 입장은하느님, 인간, 자연과의 관계가 제대로 복원되어야 한다는 입장이다. 프란치스코 교황은 회칙을 통해 인간의 과학 기술에 대한 환상과 기술관료주의 확산이 환경 재앙의 원인이라고 진단하였다. 이를 극복하기위해서 로마 교황청은 국가 간 대화뿐 아니라 지역, 계층, 영역 간 대화의 필요성을 강조한다. 가톨릭의 이러한 입장은 특정 종교단체의 입장이라기보다는 환경문제의 본질과 해결방식에 비교적 잘 접근한다고평가할 수 있다. 가톨릭의 환경 문제에 관한 대응 방식은 환경문제의해법을 종합적으로 체계적으로 밝혔다는 점에서 높이 평가받고 있다.
Catholic's Basic Position on Environmental Ethics and How to respond
Today, environmental problems are expanding into international issues, not just one country. But all of us have not found a practical solution to environmental problems. Recognition and solution of environmental problems can be different according to interests such as developed and developing countries, strata and regions, governments and civic groups. Global ecological point of view and solutions of the Catholic on environmental issues is attracting the attention of all of us. The basic position on Catholic environmental issues is that the relationship with God, man and nature must be restored. Pope Francis diagnoses that the spread of fantasy in scientific technology and technical bureaucracy has become the cause of environmental disaster. To overcome this, the Vatican emphasizes the need for inter-regional, inter-strutum, and inter-group dialogue,as well as diplomatic dialogue among nations. This universal position of Catholicism can be regarded as approaching the essence and solution of environmental problems rather than the position of a particular religion. The Catholic environmental and ethical response method should be highly evaluated in terms of the structural causes of environmental problems and policy alternatives.
