유교의 예악론(禮樂論)에 관한 연구
유교는 예절과 음악의 중용적 조화를 중시한다. 예악은 다음과 같은 의미로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 예악(禮樂)은 한마음이 된 사람에게 서 우러나오는 자연스러운 형식이다, 행복한 사람의 몸놀림이 예(禮)이 고, 행복한 사람의 흥얼거림이 악(樂)이 되었다. 둘째, 예악은 인간이 인위적으로 만든 동작과 음악이다. 세상의 조화와 안정을 위해 예(禮) 와 악(樂)이 필요하다. 셋째, 예악은 한마음의 상태에서 우러난 행동이 면서 인위적으로 만든 예악과 일치될 수 있다. 예악(禮樂)의 기능으로 첫째, 인간다운 삶을 확립할 수 있다. 예악을 지키며 사는 사람은 인간답고, 정신적으로 풍요롭다. 둘째. 예악은 사 회다운 사회를 확립하는 기능을 한다. 인간 사회는 예악을 지키는 사 람들이 가득할 때 아름답고 넉넉한 사회가 된다. 셋째, 국제 질서와 평 화의 정착에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 온 세계가 예악을 지켜 서로 화목하 고 양보하는 모습이 될 때 세상은 평화로워진다. 예악이 꽃피는 이상 사회가 되면 첫째, 개인적인 측면에서는 형식과 내용이 잘 어우러져 조화를 이루는 이상적인 삶을 살 수 있다. 둘째, 개인의 삶이 예악의 조화에 의해 이상적인 삶이 되고, 인간 사회가 예 악이 지켜지는 아름답고 넉넉한 사회가 될 때 전 세계는 조화롭고 풍 요로운 이상 사회가 될 수 있다. 셋째, 자연과 인간이 하나 되는 이상 향이 이루어진다. 본 연구는 유교 예악론(禮樂論)의 본질과 현대적 의 의를 추출하는 데 의미를 두었다.
A Study on the Theory of Rite and Music (LiYuelun; 禮樂論) in Confucianism
Confucianism emphasizes the moderate harmony between etiquette (rite) and music. Rite and music (禮樂) can be divided into the following meanings. First, rite and music is a natural form that comes from people who are of one mind. The movement of a happy person is rite (禮), and the humming of a happy person becomes music (樂). Second, rite and music are movements and music that are artificially created by humans. For harmony and stability in the world, rite (禮) and music (樂) are necessary. Third, rite and music can be matched with the artificially created rite and music, while it is also an action that comes from a state of one mind. As a function of rite and music (禮樂), first, it is possible to establish a human‐worthy life. People who live by observing rite and music are human‐worthy and spiritually rich. Second, rite and music function to establish a socially decent society. Human society becomes a beautiful and generous society when it is full of people who observe rite and music. Third, it can help establish international order and peace. The world becomes peaceful when the whole world observes rite and music to become reconciled and yield to each other. When it becomes an ideal society where rite and music bloom, first, from a personal perspective, it is possible to live an ideal life in which form and content harmonize well. Second, personal life becomes an ideal life by the harmony of rite and music, and when human society becomes a beautiful and generous society where rite and music are respected, the whole world can become a harmonious and prosperous ideal society. Third, a utopia where nature and humans become one is achieved. This study is meaningful in that it extracts the essence and modern significance of the Confucianism theory of rite and music (LiYuelun; 禮樂論).
