유교 평화론에 관한 연구
유교에서 평화는 일체의 불안이 없이 마음이 완전히 평안해진 상태를 의미한다. 이런 경지는 '나'라는 것이 없어진 무아의 상태가 되어남과 완전히 하나가 되었을 때 이루어진다. 유교에서 이상사회로 제시한 대동사회도 완전한 평화가 온 세상에 이루어진 모습을 말한다. 유교에서 모든 평화는 개인의 수양에서 출발한다. 개인의 수양을 통해 다른 사람과 한마음이 될 때 가족 구성원과 하나가 될 수 있고, 국가의 평화와 세계의 평화도 이루어진다. 가정을 다스리고 국가를 다스리는 목적도 가정이 화목해지고 국가의 평화를 이루기 위해서이다. 세계의 평화는 개인의 수양을 바탕으로 이루어진 화목한 가정, 평화로운국가의 연장이다. 모든 사람이 착한 마음을 회복하여 온 세상 사람이천사처럼 될 때, 이 세상은 지상천국이 된다. 유교에서 말하는 세계 평화란 전쟁이 없는 상태를 의미하지 않는다. 유교에서 세계 평화는 모든사람이 착한 마음을 회복하여 온 세상 사람이 천사처럼 되고 지상천국이 된 상태를 말한다. 개인의 수양과 평화는 동시성을 지니고 있다. 개인의 수양이 완성된후 남을 다스리는 것이 아니라, 내가 수양한 만큼 집안을 가지런하게하고 화목하게 만들 수 있으며, 내가 수양한 만큼 국가를 평화롭게 만들 수 있고, 내가 수양한 만큼 세계는 평화로워진다. 인간 세상도 보는사람에 따라서 다르다. 수양이 되지 않은 사람은 늘 불안하다. 자기가불안한 만큼 이 세상도 불안하게 보인다. 세상의 평화는 보는 자의 주관에 따라서 다르게 보이기 때문이다. 자기가 불안할 때는 세계가 불안하고 자기가 평화로워지면 세계도 평화로워진다. 자기 마음이 평화로워지는 만큼 가정도 평화롭고 나라도 평화롭고 세계도 평화롭다. 개인의 완성과 세계 평화도 동시성을 지니고 있다. 인의예지 본성이곧고 바르게 발현된 본마음대로 삶을 영위하면 이 세상은 천국으로 보인다. 이기적 욕심의 눈으로 보면 이 세상은 서로 간의 갈등과 경쟁, 불평불만으로 가득 찬 지옥이다. 공자는 하루라도 본마음이 이기적인욕심을 이기는 순간 禮를 회복하게 되고, 禮를 회복하는 순간 천인합일이 되면서 세상은 평화가 도래하게 된다고 보았다.
A Study on the Confucian Peace Theory
In Confucianism, peace means a state in which the mind is completely at peace without any anxiety. This kind of state occurs when ‘me’ becomes a state of selflessness that disappears and becomes one with others. The society of solidarity proposed by Confucianism as an ideal society also refers to the appearance of complete peace in the whole world. In Confucianism, all peace begins with individual discipline. Through personal discipline, you can become one with family members when you are in unison with others, and national peace and world peace are also achieved. The purpose of governing the family and governing the nation is also to make the family harmonious and achieve national peace. World peace is an extension of a peaceful family and a peaceful nation based on individual discipline. When everyone recovers a good heart and people in the whole world become like an angel, this world becomes a heavenly world. World peace in Confucianism does not mean a state in which there is no war. In Confucianism, world peace is the state in which all people have recovered the good heart and the people of the world have become angels and have become heavenly worlds. Personal discipline and peace have simultaneity. After my personal discipline is completed, I do not rule over others, but as much as I discipline, I can make my house as neat and harmonious as possible, as much as I discipline, I can make the country peaceful, and the world becomes peaceful as much as I discipline. The human world also has different shapes depending on the viewer. People who are not disciplined are always anxious. The world seems uneasy as much as you are uneasy. It is because the peace in the world looks different depending on the subjectivity of the viewer. When one is uneasy, the world becomes uneasy, and when one becomes peaceful, the world also becomes peaceful. As peaceful as one's mind becomes, the family is peaceful, the country is peaceful, and the world is peaceful. Personal perfection and world peace also have simultaneity. When the true nature of benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom lives a life with the true and straight‐forward nature of the mind, this world seems heaven. In the eyes of selfish greed, this world is a hell full of conflict, rivalry, and discontent. Confucius says that propriety (禮) can be restored when one's heart overcomes selfish greed even for a day and that at the moment of restoring propriety (禮), becoming a unity with nature and man, the world peace comes.
