This paper analyzes highschool ‘Ethics and Thoughts’ in 2009 reversed curriculum to inspect the high school Buddhism Thought and presents a direction of Buddhism Education. In korean moral education, Buddhism has been relatively underestimated by the way of thinking focussed on Confucianism; regarding moral education as Confucianism Thought. Buddhism Thought in curriculum has been changed slightly compared to other sections in ‘Ethics and Thoughts’. This study observes the Buddhism Thought in curriculum after 5th curriculum and analyzes the Buddhism Thought in textbook of ‘Ethics and Thoughts’, 2009 reversed curriculum. I suggest three proposal in order to set up the direction of Buddhism Thought and Buddhism Education in the future by analyzing problems and specifications of contents and description in textbook. First proposals are a advice about the essence of Buddhism Thought and a method to raise teachers. Second proposal is a method of selecting contents based on three Great[三大], the essencials[體]‧external appearance[相]‧application[用]. Third proposal is the caution point on building curriculum; setting up the direction of Buddhism Thought and education by predicting future society. In future society, ‘philosophical question’ about how to live will arise, therefore, ‘Ethics and Thoughts’ can be more important and essential subject. Especially, Buddhism thought will give the answers about ‘philosophical question’ due to its special feature; it apprehends well about the character of human being as a natural being. Therefore, it is important to set up and prepare the direction of Buddhism Education in the view-point of essence, diversity, the essencials[體]‧external appearance[相]‧application[用] in Buddhism Thought.
